Khmer Krom living in Svay Tong district in Moat Chrouk (An Giang) province have said that Vietnamese authority has banned Khmer Krom from installing satellite discs to watch Khmer TV broadcasting from Cambodia.
In an interview with VOKK Radio, Mrs. Neang Sopheap, from An Giang, said Vietnamese secret police are going around banning all Khmer Krom not to instal satellite discs or antennas to watch Khmer TVs. She said if someone does not observe the bans, they will get into troubles or will be heavily fined.
She also said that Vietnamese authority went around giving little money and gifts as bribes to Khmer Krom to stay silent on the issue of land confiscations. She said hundreds of hectares of her land were confiscated so she could not accept this little gift to stay silent. She has to fight for the return of her ancestral lands.

ថ្មីៗនេះ អាជ្ញាធរយួនបានធ្វើការហាមឃាត់ មិនឲ្យ ប្រជាពលរដ្ឋខ្មែរក្រោម តម្លើងថាសផ្តាយរណប ឬអង់តែនទូរទស្សន៍ នៅតាមផ្ទះ ទោះបីក្រុមគ្រួសារ ដែលមានលទ្ធភាពតម្លើងថាសផ្តាយរណប ឬអង់តែនទូរទស្សន៍មានចំនួនតិចតួចក៏ដោយ។ ជុំវិញហេតុការណ៍ ទាំងអស់នោះ សហការីនៃវិទ្យុសំឡេងកម្ពុជាក្រម លោក ថង ប៊ុនថា ធ្វើបទសម្ភាសន៍ជាមួយ នឹងអ្នកស្រី នាងសុភាព ដែលមានខ្លឹមសារ ទាំងស្រុងដូចតទៅនេះ៖
