The Thai military had on 28th June conducted a series of military drills in a number of areas along the Cambodian-Thai borders, from Tapraya district in Sakeo province right to Hansai district in Buriram province.
Cambodian intelligence reports said that some of Thai troops had been pulled out from Tapraya area from 25-27 June after earlier drill in the area. In areas opposite Cambodia's Thmor Puok district in Banteay Meanchey province and in Banteay Ampil district in Oddar Meanchey, Thailand's mixed troops from 10 brigades, including 6 brigades of ground forces, 3 brigades of naval forces and one brigade of air force, are conducting a one-week military drills along the border, starting from 25th June.
Some intelligence said that the Thai military had moved some troops and military hardware closer to the border, causing tension with Cambodian troops. The sources said that the military situation is very volatile and that the Cambodian military are monitoring Thailand's military manoeuvres very closely.
