Constructive criticism, criticise to improve our military

By Anonymous

The discussion on our military strength and weakness is a good start to learn how we can improve. If people try to sugarcoat the severity of it, how do you resolve the problem? If you cannot point out a problem without being attacked and called a traitor. The problem will never be resolve and the can will continue to be kicked down the road. I believe the first then we all need to do is control our pride a bit. It seems that certain people on here cannot control their pride. It's great to hold such high pride of your nation. But it should not cloud your judgement. Let's figure out the weakness of our military and government. Then you can find a solution. Everyone think that we shouldn't debate this right now because of our conflict; then when? If we allow the government to use war propaganda without anyone keeping them check, like us, they will use our soldier lives as shields for their political gains. Our foot soldiers is at an disadvantage compare to the government. Some people here seems to respond with reaction and not with professionalism. Their reaction is to immediately attack another blogger. Since this topic started I sense the same blogger is always writing that we are continually attacking our soldiers in a time that Thailand is aggressively bullying us. We are not attacking our soldiers but the institution. Our soldiers are there to do what they are told to do. By debating this issue, we are not in anyway an expert in military issues but we have a sense of certain issues. This does not mean Thailand military will be on here to read blogs to see if they can find weakness in our military. They already have their own experts.

I don't see by donating my hard earn money to our soldiers will help the situation. In a particular way, it is like how the CPP is allowing business people to personally donate or sponsor certain military branch. That is not solving the problem. It starts at the top. People need to get it in their head that we are not attacking our soldiers. It is the government that we are holding accountable. I have a suggestion for those who keep accusing us on attacking our soldiers. READ and RE-READ.

People should be allowed to point out the shortcomings in our military. Censoring people's opinions on our military, especially when they are just trying to raise the problems our military is facing, is not going to help improve the military. The Khmer Rouge has tried hard to suppress opinions, killed everyone who criticized its regime and its military, and so our country was destroyed. When people pointed out our military weaknesses, it doesn't mean they insulted it, but try to raise the issue so our political and military leaders can sit back and reflect on their and our military weakness. Praising our military, over-praising it and lauded its greatness while it it not, is very dangerous because people are blinded by the truth. Constructive criticism is the best way to remind our leaders of their shortcomings and so to improve our military.

I have yet to see anything resembles an offered solution in any of the criticism of the army so far on this blog. By that logic, one of the criticism posted is deemed constructive.

This guy just wants to attack Hun Sen and his CPP, and he will do anything, include posting a long and dullness comments.

No one asks him to give money to Hun Sen and CPP. If he really cares about the troops, he can give the money directly to the troops at the border. Instead, this guy fines a reason to say "I don't see by donating my hard earn money to our soldiers will help the situation."

So are you declaring you are a supporter of CPP and Hun Sen? If you are just say so. I am not going to bash you for being a supporter. But can you enlighten me why you think my point of criticism is wrong? If you cannot point out I can only assume you are blinded with what is really going on. I am also dumb founded that all the articles Khmerization put on here you still cannot see through how the CPP is treating our SOLDIERS. I only want the the best for them.

How do we go about that? Well, lets brain storm a bit. What do they really need right now? I believe the fullest support from our Government. Are they providing it? You can conclude that yourself. Khmerization has articles on here that you can research yourself.

Do they need food and shelter? By the looks of every news organizations. They are lacking severely. Unless you have links or information otherwise, please do share.

Are their families taken cared of while they are gone? I think not. Again, if you have information please share.

On the bright side, our SOLDIERS are very brave and high spirit. They are fighting with much lessor equipment than our counter part. There are small elements of Khmer Rouge soldiers but at this time I am very still bitter for what they've done to our people. Besides, how many are there and how old are they now to fight?

Maybe if you were reading this blog from the beginning you would have known who I made that reference to. I don`t think you understand why I see it that way. Let me explain:
It is the Government`s responsibility to provide them with everything they need. You do not want to privatize the military like the way Hun Sen is currently doing. Find the article on here if you want. The military should solely rest on the Government. If you feel the need to donate then do so. I will not criticize you for doing it. I see it as if you want to fix the problem it starts with the top. If you don`t make the government accountable then this is the problem you see before us. Our people are treated unfairly and our brave soldiers who are risking their lives everyday for what? While the Top Officials are delaying or never paying our soldiers. Instead they know that the Khmer over seas will sympathize and start donating money so they don`t have to give up any of the corrupted money. If you see that it is ok then are you no help to our soldiers but an opportunists.

If people just refrain from attacking one another then this would have been the proper debate.

P.S to Khmerization,

THAT BLOG POSTED was in response to Kon Khmer. He is not the Author of posted blog, I am. Just so we clear that up. I don`t want credit for it but he did`nt author it either. NO OFFENSE KON KHMER!
