The causes of the Thai-Cambodia war

Anonymous said...

The causes of the Thai-Cambodia war are a consequence of the Thais misleading of the issues, the Thai internal political crisis between those of Thais in power and their needs to maintain that dominance and powers or their greed for more.

The Thais find themselves in the situation they're in today, not as a result of the politics of the Democratic Party of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, but directly as a consequence of the last 60 years of a greedy, corrupt, failed and fumbled present Thai government.

It was from this beginning that the Thais began their march towards the consequences of encroaching Cambodian land since 1953, in order to maintain control of that Khmer heritage temple.

Thailand miscalculated the cost of war because all of Thai commanders never have war experiences and predicted the wrong outcome. The Thai government shall do their home works before picking a fight with Cambodia for the simple reasons that:

1-Cost of human life (including Thai service men and civilians)
2-Economy along the border (including feeding the Thais refugees) and the weakening of the entire Thai economy.
3-What if Cambodia have the ability to destroy all of the Thai infrastructures by medium ranges missile (telecommunications airports including civilian airports in the heart of Thailand), how much it would cost to rebuild?
4-The cost of maintenance and service U.S high-tech machineries, including the cost of fuel of fighter jets to keep the war going (F16 cost more than $15,000.00 U.S dollars to fly in an hour), it all adds up.
5-Most of the F16s and other fighter jets have been shot down and how much it costs to replace them.
6-Finally, the cost of the white flags.

Thailand would collapse totally within the three years period in the total war with hardcore Cambodian fighters.

another case of example of Khmer Rouge's propaganda wrote in pocket Redbook 1 KR soldier can bravely outfight against five VN soldiers.

January, 1979, Its took only two weeks for VN to roll over across the border and Mekong River and took control of Phnom Penh.

Khmer Rouge has been widely known as the fierceful and toughhead fighters but finally fading away as the salt mixing with water.

Don't make mistake twice.
Brave and experienced soldiers MUST combine with modern equipments and good training along with good disciplines and few corruption. Otherwise can't last for long. No question about this, Cambodia can conduct guerrillas warfare but it is going to be high price Cambodians have to pay. And Cambodians can't effort this again.

In full scale of war(very less like to be happened)but if... Thailand can send airplanes to bomb bridges, railroads, fuel depots and ammunition warehouses, naval docks and ships, airfields, communication towers cut off communication, and army headHQ in Phnom Penh and Central commands, ect.. Can Cambodia have anything to retaliate against this attack. Someting that can reach Bangkok.. the answer is No, Cambodia has nothing except to file petition at UN and Asean against Thai aggression.

This is not to outwit you, that Bangkor can be reached by the Cambodian troops not in two weeks like Vietnam did to Cambodia, but in just 10hrs the most.

I know that strategies, but I'm not going to reveal it here.
