Kampuchea Krom at a glance

MAP OF KAMPUCHEA KROM

Originally posted at: Khmer Kampuchea Krom Community.

Kampuchea Krom is rich in history and civilized culture before the Vietnamese settlers arrived on the northern border with Champa Kingdom.

Kampuchea Krom is the oldest land in Southeast Asia.

The Khmers called this part of the Khmer Empire [Present day Kingdom of Cambodia], Kampuchea Krom. Kampuchea Krom is also known as Lower Cambodia, Mekong Delta, or Cochin China. The Khmer populations of this beautiful landscapes share the same race,
religion, national language, culture, custom, tradition, and great history as the Khmers in Cambodia. Kampuchea Krom is slightly smaller in size than her motherland, Kingdom of Cambodia.

Kampuchea Krom or Cochinchina becomes part of French Indochina on October 17, 1887.

KAMPUCHEA KROM AT A GLANCE

Kampuchea Krom is composed of 68,965 square kilometers, 21 provinces and municipalities, two large islands - Koh Tral and Koh Tralach, 171 districts, 1,368 communes, 14,778 villages, more than 13 million Khmers, more than 567 Buddhist pagodas and more than 20,000 Theravada Buddhist monks.

99% of populations are Theravada Buddhists.

The Khmer kings, governments, regimes and citizens have never relinquish (give up) this part of their country to foreigners.

Kampuchea Krom has been under an ongoing colonial control since her division from motherland, Cambodia.

June 4, 1949 is the date that the Khmer Kampuchea Krom citizens grieve. The Khmer Kampuchea Krom people have organized Buddhist Service annually to honor the fallen Khmer Buddhist monks and heroes, who sacrificed their lives for Kampuchea Krom and Theravada Buddhism.

Colonial France divided, ceded and transferred Kampuchea Krom to colonial Vietnam on this date. The freedom of Khmer Kampuchea Krom has been mostly stripped by the Vietnamese ruling regimes and governments since. The French colonial administration committed injustice upon the more than 13 million Khmers of this beautiful fertile land.

Justice remains elusive for Cambodia, Kampuchea Krom and her citizens.

And...The struggle to regain freedom and human rights by the Khmers in Kampuchea Krom continues as long as injustice commits by the ruling Vietnamese regime(s) has not produced a fruitful result.

The followings are Khmer provincial, municipal and island names that the Vietnamese authorities have changed repeatedly.

Chor Siem mistreated Khmer refugees

Cambodian suffered enough by chor Siem To those who said Thai help Cambodian a lot is a wrong claim. Thais attitude to the refugees who escaped Cambodia, under Khmer Rouge, were sent back to the Khmer Rouge’s killing machine. . . . The second wave, in 1979, gethering refugees, robbed them and send back down Phnom Dangrek resulted thousands death by steppin on landmine, some were executed by thai soldiers on the top. Refugees who lived along the border have disputed with Thai people about their trade were bombed by military airplane and shelled by Thai artillery. As refugees living in the camp, set up by UNHCR [United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees], was surrounded by barbed wire made by Thai soldiers and Khmer refugees in there were mistreated by Thai authority, some was kicked, some was beaten just learning English or holding English book in their hand. The new refugees who tried to get in the camp were shot to death. There were many mistreatment beyond description that Thai did to Cambodian. Even currently, along the border there were incidents had happened many time, Cambodia was shot to death and blamed as robbers . . . . This just few example that Thai must review their attitude and stop looking down the people of your neighbors and act arrogant.

Along with a reference to the 2002 ‘landmine trap’ incident, ‘To Thai’ remarks upon an infamous event – ‘khmer kickboxer, kun khmer’ refers to it as ‘the dangrek genocide’– that took place at the Preah Vihear border crossing on 8 June 1979 after tens of thousands of Cambodians had crossed into Thailand seeking asylum. On this day, Thai soldiers began deporting 45,000 of these refugees, who were forced at gunpoint down the heavily mined and booby-trapped mountain below Preah Vihear. Many of the
Cambodians were killed or injured during their descent down the ravine; some were even robbed or shot by Thai soldiers. As ‘To Thai’ notes, those Cambodians who were allowed to remain on Thai soil in camps were sometimes abused by their Thai guards and administrators, who wielded enormous power over them and, ironically, often profited from local trade and the international aid pouring into the camps. Thai soldiers and
businessmen also benefited from trade with various Cambodian ‘resistance groups’, including the Khmer Rouge, who sometimes operated from Thai soil and were receiving international support to battle the PRK regime.

Kampuchea Krom must be returned to unite with its homeland Cambodia (Kampuchea).

Israel people lost their home land for almost 2000 years ,yet they don't give up and managed to create their country once again in 1946,just after the second world war. At that time, Israelis was just merely a few millions.

Kampuchea Krom, technically speaking, is just 62 years after it been given to Vietnam by the French government. It is a case that we must do in the UN court and in the battle to take it back. But we must be strong and modern in technology in defence and ruthless just like Israel people.

This is the reason why Hanoi's puppet try to prevent others parties to run Cambodia, because Kampuchea Krom case is very sensitive.

Before 1975,Kampuchea Krom was under its home rule although it was under Vietnam. Khmer Krom got her own armed forces and controlled their home land by her own people.
It is a case to fight for as our brothers and sisters are suffering so much under Hanoi's treatment.
