At 3 p.a yesterday, the Thai military has deployed 20-30 troops and 2 tanks to border post No. 34 in Samrong village, Kork Romiet commune in Thmor Puok district of Banteay Meanchey province.

At the same time, another group of Thai soldiers had been deployed to positions opposite Mohosrop village in Kork Romiet commune also.

The Thai precautionary measures were taken after 2 days of fighting in Preah Vihear. However, military officers from both sides had been meeting in the nearby Boeng Trokuon village the whole morning to reduce the tensions, but the details of the meeting have not been released to the media.

In O'Smach in Oddar Meanchey province, the Chong Chorm border checkpoint and Chong Chorm Market had been re-opened after Cambodian and Thai military commanders reached a ceasefire agreement on the same day.
