The meeting between Cambodian and Thai military held at a restaurant in Choam Sra-Ngam at 10 a.m today has ended after both sides had reached 4 agreements in one and half hour talks.

1. Cambodia has agreed to release 4 Thai soldiers captured during yesterday's fighting.
2. All sides stop bulldozing and building roads/tracts in the disputed zones (Sombok Khmum).
3. agreed to a ceasefire and stop mobilising and reinforcing troops.
4. Urge the Joint Boundary Commission of both countries to demarcate the border as soon as possible.

The two sides had also accepted Cambodian proposal to station 5 unarmed soldiers dressed in civilian clothes from each side at the border line opposite Preah Vihear temple. The 5 soldoers from each side have the rights to enter the Sombok Khmum area.

After the meeting ended, 4 Thai soldiers were handed over to the Thai delegation and Choam Sra-Ngam and Anlong Veng border crossings had re-opened at 1.30 p.m today.

Gen. Srey Doek said the Thai side had promised not to launch an attack first, but Cambodian troops reserve the rights to use a self-defence to protect Cambodian territory if Thai troops crossed the border into Cambodian territory.

A Thai commander, however, refused to answer a journalist's question of why Thai troops had fired artillery shells into Cambodian territory.

The Thai side had asked to conduct military drills for another 10 days, but they will have to be conducted in areas far away from the borders.
