The youngest sister of Dr. Son Ngoc Thanh passed away at the age of 102

Mrs. Son Thi Them, the youngest sister of Dr. Son Ngoc Thanh, was born in 1911 in Koki Krav village, Kampong Thom district, Preah Trapaing province, Kampuchea Krom (currently known in Vietnamese as: Ấp Kỳ La xã Hòa Thuận huyện Châu Thành tỉnh Trà Vinh). She was living in Cambodia when she passed away at the age of 102 on 02 January 2011.

Her remain will lay in state at Wat Samrong Andet Pagoda, Chres village, Phnom Penh Thmei commune, Sen Sok district, Phnom Penh city, up until the Buddhist funeral ceremony. This announcement is provided as information to all Cambodian citizens.

Dr. Son Ngoc Thanh
Dr. Son Ngoc Thanh was born in 1908 and passed away in 1977 at the Vietnamese communist prison in Chi Hoa. He was the former Prime Minister of Cambodia in 1945 and in 1972. He was also the former leader of the Khmer Serei (Free Khmer) movement, as well as the leader of the Khmer Special Force and the founder of the first Khmer language newspaper in 1936, the Nokor Wat.
