Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked Prince Ranariddh for his message of support and best wishes for the 7th January Day to mark the 32nd anniversary of the ouster of the Khmer Rouge and the coming to power of Mr. Hun Sen's ruling Cambodian People's Party.
On 5th January, Prince Ranariddh sent a letter to Mr Hun Sen applauding the 7th January day. "On the 32nd anniversary of the 7th January Day, I wish to share my celebration. The victory of the 7th January has enabled the Khmer people to escape from the Democratic Kampuchea regime which enabled all Khmer from all political persuasions to reach a national reconciliation and to re-establish a second kingdom (of Cambodia)", said Prince Ranariddh's letter.
In reply, Prime Minister Hun Sen thanked the prince for his support and best wishes for the 7th January Day.
The conciliatory tone between the pair happened less than a month after Mr. Hun Sen blasted the Prince and threatened to sack him as the king's advisor after the prince decided to re-enter politics on 11th December 2010.
Many people consider 7th January as the invasion day when the Vietnamese army invaded Cambodia to oust the Khmer Rouge from power on 7th January 1979.

Ah, Ranarith is a stupid son of a B. he is just like his father. he had no back bone at all. he is the most corupted shit head and also, he is a trator to our heroes who died for our cause in 80's. I'm so sad to say I was one of them from 78's to 82's. I still don't understand why some khmer people still believe and trust him? he has no brain, no idea how to run the country beside take the money and run !!! just look at his father? where is he now? eigher in China or N.korea? both countries are communists right? now Ranarith?.
Now he support Hun Zen for A Yourn invaded our country 1979? is he have any brain at all? or just want to suck Hun Zen's chicken?
2:23AM, I have to agree with some of your thoughts. Rannarith was shamely voted out of Funcinpec party. His loyal advisor Nek Bunchay defected to join CPP. Now it's quite obvious that Rannarith is kissing up to Hun Sen to earn some favors. I don't know what he can achieve by returning to politic. Maybe it is part of Hun Sen's "You cratch my back, I'll scratch your back" strategy. Currently, SRP has the most seats after CPP in the parliament. The jigsaw puzzle is beginning to come together. Maybe it's part of a grander scheme by Hun Sen and his gangs to take away votes from SRP and other oppositions in the next coming election. This is just my guesstimation.
I support Lon rith. Lon nol son. Cus he willing to save our resources and business and control our government but less politic. Most importantly he talk more of about what he want for our country and less bickering on each other.cpp need to get the borders issues done then let someone else Lead.
