Mr. Rong Chhun, chairman of Cambodian Watchdog Council, said he will ask the government to suspend border post planting with Vietnam after his return from a visit to the border areas which he claimed to have witnessed a number of border posts being planted inside Cambodian territory.

During a visit to border post No. 109 in Memot district in Kampong Cham province, Mr. Rong Chhun and his delegation claimed that many border posts in the areas were planted in the middle of Cambodian plantations. He said he will compile a report to inform the government of the encroachments.

He told Kampuchea Thmey on Tuesday 6th December that he will also ask the government to suspend border demarcations with Vietnam because during his visit he found that there are irregularities in the planting of a number of border posts in Kampong Cham areas, especially border post No. 109 which he claimed to have been planted 200 metres deep in the middle of the cashew plantation belonging to Cambodian farmers.
