Prime Minister Hun Sen to make a 5-day visit to China

Prime Minister Hun Sen will lead a high-powered delegation on an official visit to China from 13-17 December at the invitation of China's Premier Wen Jiabao.

According to a statement (pictured) released by the Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Hun Sen and his delegation will also pay a visit to King Father Sihanouk and Queen Mother Monineath at their residence in Beijing.

The statement further said that the prime minister and his delegation, which include Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh, will hold bilateral talks with the Chinese leadership, including Chairman of the Chinese People's Congress Mr. Wu Bangguo, President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao.

The purpose of his visit and agenda of the meetings had not been revealed. However, the statement said that the delegation will sign eleven bilateral agreements with the Chinese leaders. The statement also said that the delegation will also make a visit to the cities of Tianjing, Wuxi, Suzhou and Nanjing.
