King Father Sihanouk has sent a message of supports to Prime Minister Hun Sen from his Beijing residence, vowing to support him to be prime minister of Cambodia till the end of his life.
In a short hand-written note in French released on Friday 10th, the ex-king said he had always supported Mr. Hun Sen and will continue to support him until he died. "For many years, I have said and written in support of Samdech Dejo Hun Sen 100% in his highest quality as the head of the royal government of Cambodia and I will continue to support him until the end of my life. My position will remain unchanged", Sihanouk wrote.
At the end of his message, the ex-king wrote that he has retired from public life and has re-assured Mr. Hun Sen hat he will not re-enter politics again.
Sihanouk's message of unwavering supports for Mr. Hun Sen came one day after the premier issued a strong warning to his royal rival Prince Ranariddh, Sihanouk's son and advisor to the current king who is making a political comeback, saying that his decision to re-enter politics will drag the king and the monarchy into politics.
Mr. Hun Sen is scheduled to have an audience with King Father Sihanouk and the Queen Mother at their residence in Beijing when the premier and his delegation visit China from 13-17 December.
