A provincial official said Cambodia has exported at least 20,000 tons of paddy rice per month to Vietnam through various border points along the country's eastern border.
An official from Takeo Provincial Agriculture Department said everyday between 27 and 30 trucks transporting paddy rice have crossed the borders. He said these numbers representing a two fold increase from last year.
The same official said that Cambodian paddy rice had been exported through Takeo's Angkor Borei, Borei Cholasa and Kirivong border points. He said he estimated the paddy rice exports through above three points to exceed 20,000 tons per month.
Prime Minister Hun Sen have said on many occasions that Cambodia had more than 4 million tons of rice surplus, but lacks international standard processing. As a result ,most of Cambodian paddy rice have to be exported to neighbouring countries like Vietnam and Thailand where they were processed, packed and then exported to third countries.

Ignorant Reporters must leanr to get their facts right instead of reporting misleading information to public.
What one can see from the photo is Paddy (Sreuv in Khmer) and not Rice (milled rice or Ang Kor in Khmer)!!! Cambodia exports mainly PADDY and through informal border trade to Vietnam and Thailand every single year!!! NOT Rice!!!
5:32 PM, The word rice is a general term. It describes husked rice, unhusked rice and paddy.If we want to be specific here then we can called it an export of paddy. But I prefer to use a general term here. If you think you can do better, I suggest you create a better blog to compete against this blog.
It is differnt between husked rice and rice paddy ,what going on with this topic is rice paddy in khmer general term.
