Authorities have continued a nationwide crackdown on the sales of DVD footage of the Koh Pich stampede which killed 353 and wounded more than 400 people after they have confiscated more than 100 DVDs from Kandal and about 77 more from Koh Kong late last week.
The latest crackdown took place in Banteay Meanchey province on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th, where authorities have confiscated 204 DVDs from stalls in Poipet town.
Mr. Khun Bun Hourn, chief of Banteay Meanchey Central Security Office, said the sale of those DVDs is an illegal act because it can cause social unrest and impact on other sectors of the society.
