Cambodia's Baitong Co. Ltd said it had exported 160 tons of corns to Vietnam last month for the price of $259 per ton. Baitong said the exports amounted to more than 50% of its corn stockpile of 300 tons it purchased from Cambodian farmers.

Mr. Ung Kim Liss, Baitong's purchasing officer, said Baitong had the capacity to export or sell thousands of tons of corns to its business partners per year if there are demand for it.

Cambodia had exported tens of thousands of farm produce, like rice and corns, to its neighbours, especially Vietnam and Thailand, but the exports are not properly accounted by official trade figures because most of the transactions were done casually without proper accounting and records.
