Thailand violated Cambodia 193 times in two years

A Cambodian police official claimed that in the two years since Thai troops invaded the Preah Vihear areas, the Thai side had violated Cambodian border villages in Oddar Meanchey province 193 times, reports everyday.com.

Gen. Men Ly, Police Commissioner of Oddar Meanchey province, said that since Thai troops invaded Preah Vihear area on 15th July 2008, Thai troops had violated Cambodian villages and territories 193 times in the forms of shootings and shelling on Cambodian soldiers and civilians, deployed troops in disputed areas, using bulldozers to destroy crops and houses belonging to Cambodian villagers.

He said in the same period, 11 Cambodian civilians had been shot and wounded, 169 had been arrested and 96 had been deported back to Cambodia.

Gen. Men Ly that said border areas where Thai troops violated the most are Choam Sa-Ngam Checkpoint in Anlong Veng district, O'Smach Checkpoint in Samrong district, Ta Krabey temple, Choup Angkounh village, Choup Koki and Choup Trolork villages in Banteay Ampil district of Oddar Meanchey province.
