A senior police officer from the National Police Commissariat has on 6th July drawn his pistol and shot at a truck driver after a minor traffic accident, reports Deum Ampil.
Witnesses said that the unnamed senior police officer was driving his luxury Lexus behind a transport truck along a highway in Kandal village, Banteay Dek commune in Kean Svay district of Kandal province when he attempted to overtake the truck. It appears that the truck increased the speed and the luxury Lexus failed to overtake the truck and instead rear-ended the truck, causing some damages to the front of the Lexus. Witnesses said that the Lexus driver then gave chase to the truck driver. Fearing for his life, the truck driver stopped then tried to run away, but the Lexus driver hurled verbal abuses, drew his pistol and shot at him once.
After the incidence, Kean Svay police arrived and detained the two vehicles for evidences and to write the accident report. However, the driver of the Lexus, who is a high-ranking police officer and who shot at the truck driver, was let off scotch free. The Lexus was identified as an LX 570 series with the Phnom Penh number plate 2K-0153.

First of all, where do they get the money from to have the luxury car Lexus, as a police officer, who could earn about $200 per month?

He either got his money from trafficking drug or stole it from the police budget. I heard police earn about $80-$100 per month, so how can they get the money to buy luxury Lexus which cost over $100,000?
