Wife of spokesman for the U.S Embassy has been flown by a helicopter to a U.S hospital ship anchored off the coast of Sihanoukville after she was seriously injured in a car accident in Sihanoukville this morning (Saturday 26th), reports Deum Ampil.
Deum Ampil reports that M. McConnon (spelling?), wife of John Johnson (pictured), public affair officer of the U.S Embassy, suffered a serious injury after the car she was travelling in spiralled out of control and hit acacia trees in Prey Noup district of Preah Sihanouk province at 10am this morning.
Maj. Kim Chhorn, commander of Military Police in Prey Noup, said the woman was flown by a helicopter to a U.S hospital ship buoyed nearby. Her two young children and a maid travelling in the same car suffered only minor injuries, but Ms. McConnon was in a coma, said the report.
According to a report, the woman and the other occupants of the car were travelling to attend a function/banquet with American military doctors and naval crews working on the hospital ship moored of the coast of Shihanoukville when the accident happened.
Deum Ampil said it had tried to contact the U.S Embassy for further details, but a call to the embassy went unanswered.
