Cambodia's worse trade deficits with Thailand has gotten worsened after new figures recently released show that Thailand had exported $700 million of goods to Thailand in the first 3 months of 2010, while Cambodia has exported a dismal $24 million to Thailand, reports everyday.com.

Figures in 2009 show that the bilateral trades between Thailand and Cambodia reached nearly $2 billion dollars. Out of the nearly $2 billion two-way trades, Cambodia had only exported to Thailand worth around $90 million.

Mr. Phoun Sakul, senior commercial advisor at the Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, said during a press conference at Phnom Penh Hotel that the Thai Embassy, in collaboration with the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, is planning to organise a trade expo in Phnom Penh from 17-20 June.

He said the trade expo will take place at Koh Pich and will be open from 9am to 9pm everyday. A wide range of companies, such as food companies, shoes companies, beverage companies, companies selling education materials and cosmetic companies, will showcase their products at the expo, he said.
