Two ways trades between Cambodia and S. Korea increased by 31%, compared to the same period last year as a result of a significant increase in garment orders from S. Korea, reports everyday.com.
According to Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), two way trades between Cambodia and Korea increased from $24.2 million in the first quarter of 2009 to $31.7 in the same period in 2010. Cambodia's export to Korea increased from $1.6 million to $4.3 million. Korea's exports to Cambodia increased by 21% from $22.6 million to $27.6 million.
Cambodian trade officials said the increase in trades between the two countries was due to the increased needs in processed rubber products and a rebound of the Cambodian garment industry.
