The Queen Mother, Queen Monineath Sihanouk, honourary president of the Cambodian Red Cross and Lady Bun Rany, executive president of the Cambodian Red Cross and wife of Prime Minister Hun Sen, have on Thursday 22nd travelled to distribute aid and gifts to the poor and old people in 4 communes in Prey Veng province and 7 communes in Kandal province, reports Koh Santepheap.
The Queen Mother and Lady Bun Rany distributed gifts to 612 families in 4 communes of Peam Cho district in Prey Veng province and 7 communes in Leuk Dek districts in Kandal province.
The report said that each family has received 30 kilograms of rice, one case of Cambodian-made Mi Yeung noodle, 10 cans of canned fish, one krama (scarf), one sarong, one blanket, one mosquito net, two Bak Yong bread loaf, two bottles of pure water and 50,000 riels ($15) in cash.
The event was organised by the Cambodian Red Cross, but the gifts and cash are all paid for by Queen Monineath Sihanouk and King Father Sihanouk.
