A member of parliament from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) said that his party's president, Mr. Sam Rainsy (pictured), will make a return to Cambodia very soon, reports Deum Ampil.

Mr. Chea Poch, SRP MP from Prey Veng, told Deum Ampil on Tuesday morning that Mr. Sam Rainsy is his party's only prime ministerial candidate for the 2013 election, so he will have to return to Cambodia very soon. "I believe that President Sam Rainsy will return to the country very soon. No one is a prime ministerial candidate, President Sam Rainsy is the only candidate and he will return very soon", he said.

Mr. Chea Poch said Cambodia needs billions of dollars in foreign aid and in the absence of opposition parties foreign donors will cut their aid.

On 24th February, in a speech to students at a graduation ceremony at Royal University of Phnom Penh, Prime Minister called Mr. Sam Rainsy "a traitor" for creating instability on the eastern borders with Vietnam at the same time as when Cambodia is having conflicts with Thailand on the western borders. He said there will be the participation of opposition parties in the next elections, minus Mr. Sam Rainsy.

Mr. Sam Rainsy was convicted and sentenced in absentia to 2 years jail and fined 8.5 million riels ($2500) for uprooting six border markers from the Khmer-Vietnamese borders on 25th October 2009 he accused of illegally planted by the Vietnamese authority inside Cambodian territories.

To gain the respect, Sam Rainsy must honor his promise. If he returns, he might be arrested but he will be a hero. Good luck, Sam.
