Vietnam has bestowed honours and military decorations to 80 Cambodian officials for their services to finding the remains of Vietnamese soldiers killed in Cambodia, reports everyday.com.
The award ceremony was presided by Deputy PM and Defence Minister Tea Banh on Thursday 21st January. Estimates put numbers of Vietnamese soldiers killed during their 10 years occupation of Cambodia at 20,000 (international news media estimated 55,000 killed).
In the past years, Cambodia had repatriated 9 times the remains 1216 of Vietnamese soldiers. There are an estimated 8,000 remains of Vietnamese soldiers left to be found and repatriated back to Vietnam.
