A man has on 12th January chopped to death his wife with a machete and an axe in a drunken and jealousy rage, leaving 5 young kids without a mother, reports Koh Santepheap.
The newspaper reported that 45 year-old Meas Phorn, from Kien Svay district of Kandal province, chopped his wife with a machete and an axe repeatedly in front of his three young kids in drunken rage after he got jealous with other men. Some sources said he got angry with his wife because she is an addicted gambler who refused to stop her gambling habits.
Neighbours said that, due to poverty, two older children, a 16 year-old girl and a 15 year-old boy, left the family to seek employment in Phnom Penh to help feed the family. Now, they have act as parents to their young three sisters.
Meas Phorn was arrested and detained by Kien Svay police awaiting trial.

What a tragic.
It is a tragedy that resulted from the worsening of social orders. The government should restrict illegal alcohol production so as to reduce domestic violence.
Domestic violence shall be stopped.
