A quack working in an illegal clinic in Phnom Penh has killed a patient after she gave him an injection and a variety of unknown drugs to take, report Deum Ampil.
According to the newspaper, 36 year-0ld Ork Sam-Ol was killed when the quack, 40 year-old Thu Dalin, injected him twice with unknown drug and gave him large amount of other unknown drugs for him to take.
The report said the incident happened on the morning of 14th January at an unregistered private clinic at Phnom Penh's Dangkor district when the patient was taken there from stomachache and stomach complaints. The report said that, when the patient was taken to the clinic, Dr. Hem Sothea, the owner of the unregistered clinic with questionable qualification, was not at the clinic so his stepwife, Thu Dalin, gave the patient one tablet to take. When the patient didn't get better, she injected him with an unknown drug. When he didn't get better she administered a pack of unknown drug and gave the patient to take. Immediately, the patient suffers a convulsion, grasped for air and was fighting for his life. The quack got panic and asked the relatives to take the patient out of her clinic immediately. When the relatives tried to move him out, the patient passed away straight away on the spot.
The quack and her husband were detained by the police. After they were briefly quizzed, they were released without charge. However, the report said that the clinic owner agreed to a compensation, but at the time of this article going to press, details of the compensation have not been agreed and the relatives of the dead patients haven't yet been compensated.

Tragic result. Govt. must crackdown on illegal and unregistered clinic and prosecute unqualified doctors to stop such deaths. How many people had died in the hands of these so-called fake doctors?
