Gen. Chea Dara: Thais cannot order Cambodian troops to withdraw from Cambodian territory

Plans for talks between Thai and Cambodian commanders at Phnom Trop might be cancelled if Thai commanders still insist Cambodian troops be withdrawn from Phnom Trop, everyday.com quoted Gen. Chea Dara as saying.

Thai commanders had strongly asked the Cambodian side to withdraw Cambodian troops from the west side of Phnom Trop and the meeting on 16th January had degenerated into a shouting match that nearly resulted in armed clashes between the opposing sides when Thai commanders warned that Thai troops will launch the attacks on the Cambodian side if Cambodian troops are not withdrawn by the next day.

Gen. Chea Dara, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in charge of the Preah Vihear operations, said Cambodian troops will not be withdrawn from the area as insisted by the Thai side because the area is a Cambodian territory and that those troops had been deployed in the area a long time ago.

He said Cambodia is a sovereign country and no other country can order the Cambodian troops what to do. Cambodian troops will take the order from Prime Minister Hun Sen only, he said.

He warned Thai troops not to use force against Cambodian troops because Cambodian troops will use self-defence rights to entertain the Thai troops to the bitter end. He added that Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered him to physically stay with the troops at Phnom Trop and personally take charge of the operations and to personally monitor the activities of the Thai troops at the Phnom Trop frontlines.

Sorry Thai you have nothing to hold on to because this land is our ancient land. You are never better than us. Yes you might knock our head but that even make you look more desperate and thief like( which is true to the Siam gene). If you keep this pesky stuff up you might get what you deserve.

Strong words from the Khmer commanders, but their words must be followed by actions if the Thais do invade or encroach against.
