Thai authority has re-introduced VIP cards that required all Khmer people who wish to make a long-term stay in Thailand must carry these cards, report Deum Ampil.
Deum Ampil reported that on 3rd December, Thai immigration police began issuing VIP cards to all Khmer people who wish to stay longer in Thailand. The cards cost between 600-1200 Baht ($150-$300).
Mr. Sao Bunrith, chief of Cambodia's Poipet International Checkpoint said Thai Immigration Police stopped issuing these cards for some time already, but has decided to re-introduced the cards again for no clear reasons. He said the re-introduction of VIP cards by Thai Immigration Police has nothing to do with Cambodian authority.
