Cambodian authority has on 3rd December rejected reports published in the The Nation that Cambodia's Deputy PM Sok An had met the mother of the alleged Thai spy at the airport while she travelled to visit her son in the Cambodian jail on 2nd December, report Deum Ampil.
A Cambodian government's statement has categorically denied that Mr. Sok An waited to welcome Mrs. Simarak na Nakon Phanom at Phnom Penh International Airport as reported by The Nation.
The alleged spy, Siwarak Chotipong, is currently being held in Preysor Prison for espionage after he allegedly stealing Mr. Thaksin's and Prime Minister Hun Sen's flight schedule. His trial will begin hearing at the Phnom Penh Court on 10th December, 2009.
