A Cambodian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Foreign Minister Hor Namhong (pictured) will meet US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on the sideline of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City on the afternoon of 22nd September.

Mr. Koy Kuong, Foreign Ministry spokesman, said the face to face meeting between Mr. Hor Namhong and Mrs. Hillary Clinton will focus on two important issues. "The first point they will discuss about bilateral co-operations between Cambodia and the United States. The second point they will discuss about issues relating to the three opposition (sic) activists who have testified at the American (Tom Lantos) Human Rights Commission on 10th September regarding the freedom of expression which have been raised by those three people who said that there has been been a restriction (of the freedom of expression). This is completely wrong, in contrast from what they are now telling a foreign government", he said.

On 10th September, Mrs. Mu Sochua, an MP from the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, Dr. Pung Chiv Kek, direcotr of human righrts group Licadho and Moeun Tola, a labour activist, had testified at the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission where they said that there have been the deterioration of human rights and democracy in Cambodia.

Mr. Koy Kuong said Mr. Hor Namhong will clarifiy with Mrs. Hillary Clinton all the issues which have been raised by the three activists.
