A Cambodian provincial official has accused Thai soldiers of shooting a Cambodian teenager engaged in illegal logging and then setting him on fire, the website of the Phnom Penh Post newspaper reported.
Thon Nol, governor of Samrong district in Oddar Meanchey province, claimed Thai soldiers accused Yon Rith, 16. of illegally felling trees and shot him.
The victim's family found his charred body and took it to their village for a funeral, he said.
He also accused the Thai soldiers of shooting and seriously wounding another teenage boy from the same village in Kon Kreal commune. Friends carried him to Cambodian territory and the teenager was being treated at a local hospital.
Cambodian officials denounced the violence as "cruel" acts.
"Why did they burn a person alive? [The armed forces] should have arrested them if they did anything wrong in Thailand," a Cambodian cabinet official Pich Ratana was quoted as saying.
The governor said Cambodian authorities were trying to help the victims.
Nanh Sovann, a Cambodian military officer who has worked with the Thai army, said he had heard of the incident but was waiting to see an official report.
The Thai army had not responded to the news report as of Monday evening.

Mr. Kim Sokha is trying to dissolve the Samrainsy Party and the democracy in Cambodia.
We all have known that Samrainsy is the only one of largest democratic parties in Cambodia today. Without this party, we don’t think Cambodian people would have democracy in this country. The ruling party who has controlled most of the power in the country today does whatever they want. There are many works that this country needs to have—such as corruptions and independent court. Samrainsy Party is the only last hope for change in this country. The change for justice to all Cambodian people in face of law is really needed in this country. All Cambodian people are afraid of going to the court because it only has one side in the court system in Cambodia. If you don’t have money, you are a loser even though you don’t do any thing wrong, you still go to jail for that. Corruption is a cancer in this country. It’s hard to cure this wound. It starts from the top to the bottom, highest to lowest, and big boss to subordinate. The highest government positions such as officers are reserved for the rich and powerful people. For instance, the secretary of commerce has placed all his family in this department. They do not provide fairly opportunity to the public. We all know that Samrainsy party has been fighting for us. So, why Kim Sokha wants to dissolve Samrainsy Party by creating a new party since Samrainsy Party is very well known in Cambodia today? The answer is because he comes from CPP party.
