The Lao Foreign Ministry has released a statement saying that since 2000, Cambodia and Laos had finalised 86% of border delimitation works a long the 535-kilometre long borders between the two countries.
From 2007 until 2009, the two countries had agreed on the delimitation of six border points out of the unresolved nine border points.
The statement also said that the meeting on 21-22 August in Siem Reap City between the Laotian Foreign Minister, Mr. Thorngloun Sisalith and Cambodian Foreign Minister Hor Namhong (pictured) had some successes in resolving some of the outstanding border issues.
During the Siem Reap meeting, both parties had resolved the outstanding issue of delimitation a border point near Selam Pav River.
On top of this, both sides had exchanged ideas about resolving other outstanding border issues that are acceptable to both sides.
