There are reports that the Thai military has caused Cambodian soldiers to be alarmed when many Thai military trucks were seen transporting material and equipments to the disputed zone for the construction of more trenches and bunkers.

Cambodian commanders based at Veal Entry and Phnom Trop have told Reaksmei Kampuchea newspaper that the Thai military has begun transporting building equipments to the areas since the morning of Friday 10th till Saturday 11th July.

Cambodian military said they've seen Thai soliders unloading steel and other equipments that are required to build trenches and bunkers.

Gen. Yim Pim, commander of division 8, said the reports are true. He said that the Thai military had also sent a jet fighter to conduct one round of reconnaissance flight over the disputed zone. The general said the Cambodian military are monitoring the Thai activities at Phnom Trop and Chak Chreng very closely.

According to the the Koh Santepheap's report, the Thai military had so far spent 20 million Thai Baht ($US500,000) to construct about 20 bunkers they say that can withstand the most powerful rocket and artillery shells.

At the same time, the Thai military had accused Cambodia of reinforcing troop numbers to the disputed zones as well as deploying six battle tanks to the areas, an accusation that was outrightly rejected by the Cambodian military.

Khmer soldiers must not back down. They must defend our territories at all cost. The Thais had taken too much of our territories already- we say no more.
