In a speech on the Food Security and Food Assistance Day attended by diplomats and foreign NGO representatives, Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) lashed out at some "foreigners" who have expressed "wrong views" that led to strained relations between Cambodia and the country of the concerned foreigners.

In a speech during the event on 7th July, Mr. Hun Sen advised those foreigners to be mindful of the consequences of their actions. He said: "I wish to advise our friends that, before they say anything that they must think of the reasons. If they don't think of the reasons first they will end up as the spokespersons for those mad opposition parties which is regrettable in our capacity as partners."

Mr Hun Sen seems to direct his speech at Ms. Carol Rodley, the U.S ambassador to Cambodia, who recently publicly said in a "Clean Hand" public forum that Cambodia had lost $US500 million per year in official corruption.

Mr. Hun Sen said he regrets that some foreigners had blindly become the spokespersons for the opposition parties which caused frictions between the two countries.

He advised any foreigners not to allow themselves from becoming a de facto spokespersons for any particular groups.
