After strong protests from the Cambodian ambassador to Thailand and from many Khmer bloggers, the Thai government has decided to remove a controversial video from the ilovethailand.org, a site believed to be the official website of the Thai Prime Minister.

The video claimed that part of today's Cambodia are actually Thai territories lost to Cambodia. Cambodian bloggers around the world as well as the Cambodian government are outraged and strongly protested against the claims. The controversial video was eventually removed from the Thai PM's website, but the same video was still posted in the YOUTUBE website.

The Cambodian government said that it will pursue to investigate the origin of the video in the YOUTUBE website and will request it to be removed from the site.

Many Khmer historians claimed that Thailand never lost one bit of territories to Cambodia. On the contrary, Cambodia had lost vast territories of its Khmer Empire to Thailand in the late 18th century, including Kauk Khan (Sisaket), Surin, Chantaburi, Buriram, Trat, Nokor Reach (Korat), Sakeo and many more provinces.

Cambodia's Battambang, Siem Reap, Sirisophorn and Preah Vihear provinces were annexed by Thailand in 1794, but were returned to Cambodia in 1907 under the Franco-Siamese Treaty of that year.
