A senior Thai military officer said that Cambodia and Thailand will hold a meeting at an operational level in the northeastern Thai province of Nakorn Ratchasima in July, reports everyday.com.
Thai news agency, TNA, reported Gen. Wiboolsak Neparn, the Thai Second Region Commander, as saying that he had a fruitful meeting with Gen. Chea Morn, Cambodian Commander of the Fourth Military Region, on Thursday. Gen, Wiboolsak said that both sides had agreed to hold talks in Nakorn Ratchasima in July to try to resolve outstanding border issues and on the issues of troop redeployments in Preah Vihear in order to ease tensions to minimise the possibility of armed clashes.
Both the Cambodian and Thai commanders said that, even if there are heightened tensions at the disputed border areas, both sides were able to make cordial contacts with each other in order to avoid confrontations.
As late as Friday, there were reports that the borders were very tense with news that the Thai military had evacuated a Thai village opposite the Preah Vihear temple and used the village as an army base. There were also news that the military had also sent reinforcements of at least 5,000 troops, equipped with tanks and heavy artillery pieces to the disputed borders.

It will be the same old cocktail, drunken meeting. As usual, nothing will result from this talk beside a friendly drink.
Many talks like this, in Siem reap and Pattaya, resulted in nothing. I sense that the Thai will continue to occupy Khmer territories forever. Very said because we have a leader like Hun Sen who doesn't care about our borders.
