The 173-page book which is titled "Prasat Phnom Preah Vihear" (The Preah Vihear Temple Mount) has been publicly unveiled on the morning of 9th June. The author of the book, the French-trained Cambodian historian, Dr. Michel Tranet (pictured), said that the book has been in the making since 1992 when he first began to collect data and historical information about the temple.
He said that the book contained important historical data and rare colourful pictures of the temple. He thanked Norton University for financing the publications of the first 1500 editions of the book.
The book's contents cover the historical data from the time of its foundation, the data related to the 1962 court case against Thailand, the victory celebration after the court case and also the maps of the 1904-1907 treaty plus the maps of the Dangrek Mountain ranges.
