The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) held its 34th plenum on 26th April under the chairmanship of its president, Mr. Chea Sim (pictured) to work out the strategy for the upcoming municipal election. In the plenum Prime Minister Hun Sen was elected PM candidate for the 2013 election and 6 of his supporters were elected to the Central Committee of the CPP, reports Deum Ampil newspaper.
According to Deum Ampil, the new members of the CPP's Central Committee elected in the plenum were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Keat Chhon, Deputy Prime Minister Yim Chhay Ly, Vice President of Senate Tep Ngorn, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) Kun Kim, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of RCAF and Commander-in-Chief of RCAF Infantry Meas Sophea, and National Police Chief Neth Savoeun. All of these above individuals are Mr. Hun Sen's loyalists with Gen. Neth Savoeun being his nephew-in-law.
Gen. Kun Kim expressed his excitement and thanked the CPP president Chea Sim, PM Hun Sen and the CPP honourary president Heng Samrin for helping him to get elected to the party's Central Committee, says Deum Ampil.
He said: "I am very excited. I wish to say a big thank to Samdech Chea Sim, Samdech Hun Sen, Samdech Heng Samrin and all members of the CPP who have confidence in me and voted for me to become a member of the Central Committee of the CPP."

Hun Sen has bullied his way in the prime ministerial candidate again. He wants to rule until he dies.
