A Cambodian military officer said the Cambodian-Thai Border Commission will meet for two days in Siem Reap from 28th to 29th April 2009, reports everyday.com.
The meeting was planned for 27-28 April, but because the Thai side need to have an internal meeting among the Thai delegation first, they had asked that the meeting date be moved to 28-29 April.
On the Cambodian side, the delegation will be led by Defence Minister Tea Banh and on the Thai side, the head of the delegation is Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.
When the Commission was created, the plan was to hold a meeting every year, but the joint meeting only lasted for a few years and it was stopped in 2003.
The same military officer said the above meeting had always been focused on general border issues but the meeting on 28-29 April in Siem Reap will be focused on the border issues from the event of 15th July 2008 (when the Thai troops invaded and occupied the Preah Vihear areas).
