PHNOM PENH, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian master puppeteer Aneng Kiswantoro will introduce the long-cherished artistic tradition of the Java island to the Khmers, English-Khmer language newspaper the Cambodia Daily said on Friday.
He will give a show of the at least 1,000-year-old art, called "wayang golek" in his country, here on Saturday.
According to the tradition, the artist performs alone to music, with 1 or 2 puppets in hands and speaking or singing relevant stories.
A veteran of 28 years old, Kiswantoro started his training with his father at five years old, at a family that has been puppeteers for seven generations.
Kiswantoro also teaches at the Indonesian Institute of Arts in Yogyakarta.
