HANOI, May 2, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- -- The Vietnamese government has approved a national plan on developing border economic zones, under which the country will have a total of 30 such zones by 2020, local newspaper Vietnam Economic Times reported Friday.
Under the plan, Vietnam will make import-export turnovers of 42- 43 billion U.S. dollars with bordering countries, including China, Laos and Cambodia in 2020.
Vietnam will prioritize development of nine existing border economic zones nationwide, namely Mong Cai, Lao Cai, Lang Son, Cau Treo, Bo Y, Moc Bai, An Giang, Dong Thap and Lao Bao.
