Vietnamese young people and Cambodian students studying in Hanoi-based universities have gathered on the occasion of the traditional Khmer New Year Festival Chol Chnam Thmay. The event, held by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisation (VUFO) and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association (VCFA) on April 9, was also attended by VUFO Vice President Tran Trong Khanh and Cambodian Ambassador Vann Phal.VCFA Vice President Nguyen Van De used the occasion to wish the Cambodian people greater achievements in their national development.He and Cambodian Ambassador Vann Phal said they believed the two countries’ young generations would follow their elder generations in contributing to the development of fine neighbour relations. The Chol Chnam Thmay Festival celebration, which begins after the year’s first harvest, falls on April 13-15 this year.
