A Sam Rainsy Party lawmaker has requested the Minister of the Interior to strengthen law enforcements and take actions to stop rogue government officials who have committed corruptions by allowing the operations of illegal gambling dens in some provinces.
In a letter dated 8th April sent to Mr. Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, MP Yim Sovann, chairman of the 4th Parliamentary Committee, said that the activities of illegal gambling have been allowed and sanctioned as the Khmer New Year approaches.
In the letter, Mr. Yim Sovann has raised the issues of illegal gambling being allowed, sanctioned and operated in a grand scale in three districts of Ratanakiri province which have been reported by Radio Free Asia yesterday. //.
