Golden memories ... សួស្ដីឆ្នាំថ្មី!

St James Park, London

So you always have wanted to understand and, have probably heard someone mentioned, this mysterious form of human folly/illness still resistant or immune to science and medical cure called 'romantic syndrome' [melancholy]? Well, it would be pretentious of me to claim to know exactly what this is, let alone being able to prescribe the right dose of remedy!

That said, there is this rather feverish [if misplaced] rumour circulating on social media of late that School of Vice is no longer quite as romantic, and therefore has been cured of the syndrome. This presumption is largely based on the recent 'Golden memories' postings where [completely out of character?] happier and generally more cheerful songs have been selected instead! School of Vice wishes to put this unfounded rumour to rest by reassuring readers and the public alike that the aforementioned syndrome has not been cured, nor is there the desire to be rid of it! Just sample the latest tune posted below and you will agree. Shall I leave you with a quote from the ancient Greeks about the agelessness of 'love'? Well, being perspicacious and perceptive that most of you readers are [otherwise you wouldn't be regular tuners to this forum, eh?], I suppose there's no need for me to write down the full quote here ....

On a serious note, may I [on behalf of the admins] wish you and all your family and loved ones a bright new year filled with all the blessings of a righteous life and the harmonious smile of an innocent, pure heart.

NB: We have appreciated readers' concern about their preference for keeping their comments anonymous or have them posted anonymously, and have therefore decided to keep the comment posting option accessible to all albeit via a moderated mode. This means that anyone could post either without first registering, registered or anonymously. Most comments posted will be held for a little while [this is because School of Vice drinks endless cups of tea and coffee...] or be held longer [this is because, yes you guessed it, School of Vice is offline, sleeping like a log!], but most comments will be posted - eventually. So please stay patient and wait for your posted comment[s] to be published instead of posting multiple posts of the same comments.

With kindest thoughts and sincerest wishes,

School of Vice

So this game of knocking her on the knee is to knock her out so a man can smooch her? Lovely picture of koun Khmer!

No, men do not knock women out to smooch, unless the latter want to.
The game is to promote once a year the custom and to create an opportunity after long hard work for young men and women to meet, fave fun, flirt that hopefully lead to courtship

Ongkun Keuy Bey [The Kneecap Game!]

[Described by some as a means for engaging in 'soft flirtations' the games taking place during the Khmer New Year are probably an unmissable opportunity for the youths to put aside day to day restrictive cultural constraints and inhibitions in favour of a little sought-after romance; the chance to showcase one's favourite wardrobe contents; to turn on your charm on everyone and no one in particular, and yes, to see and be seen . . . that is, after all, the endgame of the exercise? Now, you are thinking: what does School of Vice know about such things??! Ah, the lasting scars on the kneecaps say it all... ]

Khmer's New Year is probably closest to Biblical New Year. Though its based upon what...birth date of Buddha?

Biblical New Year is based on the beginning of the agricultural season. The moon dictates the Hebrew calendar. Passover is celebrated on the 15th (full moon) of this month. To determine when the New Year's begins is determined by the barley (grain) readiness (ripe) because we need this grain to present as the First Fruits offering before Our Creator that he may bless us with a good year. This First Fruit is offered on the third day after Passover, which coincide with Yeshua rising from the dead on the third day and he being the First Fruits (first man) to rise from the dead.

And forty days after Passover is when he ascended to heaven. And on the fifty days after Passover is when the Holy Spirit was poured out on the believers at the Temple, also known as Pentecost. All of these events concluded his First Coming...known as the Spring Festivals appointed by God. Another words, Yeshua fulfilled the prophecies as the: Passover Lamb, First Man to have conquered death and the given of his Holy Spirit to mortal men.

What more... moreover there are also God's appointed Feasts in the Fall season that Jesus (Yeshua) has to fulfilled. This has to do with his Second Coming to reign as King overall the earth. Most religious Jews missed his First Coming because they were looking for his First Coming as the Conquering King--like King David.

Like it or not if you survived the wrath of God and not take the mark of the Beast (666) you will enter with the rest of mankind who survived the Great Tribulation into the Peaceable Kingdom of our Messiah Yeshua. We called this the One Thousand Years reign of Christ on earth. You can live up to one thousand years long during this time. No worry about dreadful diseases, its of the past.

Wat happen after the One Thousand Years? You will be given a choice to choose him as your God or you can choose Satan as your master. During the 1 thousand years, Satan and all the demons will be put in prison. After that they will be released for a short while to gather up the nations to fight his last battle against our Messiah Yeshua--He will lose and those who joint him will be thrown into the Lake of Fire as their final Judgment. After this, everything will revert back to eternity past, present and future. Time will be no more. We will not dwell by time anymore. Only Light through all eternity with God and his angels. Be part of his Kingdom!

Dear School of Vice,

We thank you very much for coming to post here.

A number of your fans, old and new alike cannot post at KI Media, because we are required to make a " traceable footprint ".
Not that we have anything to hide, but in cyberspace things could fall into wrong hands.
Any way, please drop by quite often. We really appreciate it.

Happy New Year !!!
