Nothing much has altered in mankind's lust for conquest or mindset over the millennia and since the dawn of human civilisation. Stronger nations expand and oppress smaller ones; state officials and courts [in many nations, the clergy] oppress and squeeze the powerless masses, and these injustices and exploitations will in time provoke revolts and revolutions in response. China's own historical experience is just as telling in as far as it exemplifies and accentuates this basic repeated pattern in human history - from feudalism and colonial humiliation to the violence and mass horror of agrarian revolt that had seen hundreds of millions of people and lives perished through starvation and persecution. We have already seen that China's rise today is not at all as 'peaceful' as her officials will have the rest of the world believe, and her territorial presumptions and aggression over the SCS [not to mention the colonisation of numerous nations within mainland China itself] has contributed little to the prospect for regional or even global peace and stability. This is the realm of Realpolitik that also shapes the behaviour and inspires the same in many other smaller nations and states today, not least, ironically, in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, one of the aggrieved claimants in the SCS dispute, judging by Hanoi's own de facto political oppression and hegemony over the smaller states of Laos and Cambodia since the end of the French colonial rule in Indochina in the 1950s.

ប្រទេសចិនបានរិះគន់យ៉ាងខ្លាំងដល់សេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍មួយ ដែលត្រូវបានចេញផ្សាយដោយ ក្រុមរដ្ឋមន្ត្រីការបរទេសនៅក្នុងកិច្ចប្រជុំនៃក្រុមប្រទេសចំនួន៧ ដែលមានឧស្សាហកម្មរីកចម្រើនក្នុងពិពលោក ហៅកាត់ថា «ក្រុមប្រទេស G-7» ដែលបានសម្តែងកង្វល់អំពីភាពតានតឹង និងជម្លោះទឹកដីនៅក្នុងសមុទ្រចិនខាងត្បូង។
អ្នកនាំពាក្យនៃក្រសួងការបរទេសចិនលោក Lu Kang បានចោទប្រកាន់ក្រុមប្រទេស G-7 នៅក្នុងសេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍មួយថា បណ្តាប្រទេសទាំងនេះ «បានកកូរកកាយបញ្ហាសមុទ្រ និងបញ្ឆេះភាពតានតឹងនៅក្នុងតំបន់» ហើយបាននិយាយថា ប្រទេសចិនមាន «ការមិនពេញចិត្តយ៉ាងខ្លាំងជាមួយចំណាត់ការដោយក្រុមប្រទេស G-7»។
សេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍នេះក៏បានទូន្មានដល់ក្រុមប្រទេស G-7 ឲ្យ«គោរពកិច្ចខិតខំប្រឹងប្រែងដោយបណ្តាប្រទេសក្នុងតំបន់ បញ្ឈប់ពាក្យពេចន៍ និងសកម្មភាពគ្មានការទទួលខុសត្រូវទាំងអស់ និងធ្វើវិភាគទានប្រកបដោយការស្ថាបនាដល់សន្តិភាព និងស្ថេរភាពក្នុងតំបន់»។
សេចក្តីថ្លែងការណ៍របស់ក្រុមប្រទេស G-7 ដែលត្រូវបានធ្វើនៅក្នុងប្រទេសជប៉ុនក្នុងសប្តាហ៍នេះបានសម្តែង «ការប្រឆាំងយ៉ាងខ្លាំងដល់ការបំភិតបំភ័យ ការបង្ខិតបង្ខំ ឬសកម្មភាពបង្ករឿងជាឯកតោភាគី ដែលអាចកែប្រែភាពនៅដដែល និងបង្កើនភាពតានតឹង ហើយស្នើសុំដល់រដ្ឋទាំងអស់ឲ្យទប់ចិត្តកុំធ្វើសកម្មភាពនានាដូចជា ការចាក់ដីបង្កើតជាកោះ ដោយមានរួមបញ្ចូលការបង្កើតជាកោះធំៗ ការកសាងប៉ុស្តិ៍ជួរមុខ និងការប្រើប្រាស់កន្លែងទាំងនេះក្នុងគោលដៅយោធា»៕
