PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Prime Minister Hun Sen warned Monday to cancel the culture of dialogue after opposition leaders began attacking him in their meetings with supporters.
The premier accused the opposition leader Sam Rainsy and his deputy Kem Sokha of not respecting the culture of dialogue they vowed to implement to serve the interest of the nation last year, following their political agreement.
"I would like to send a message to H.E Sam Rainsy that the culture of dialogue initiated by His Excellency is not effective, and no need to hold a talk when you still attack me on the streets," he said at a graduation ceremony in Svay Reing provine.
"I will launch counterattack," he responded.
Hun Sen also appealed to the court to speed up cases against opposition lawmakers involving in violent clash near the Freedom Park on July 15.
He said the court would take legal action against those who are under detention and those who were released on bail.
CNRP's seven lawmakers, Mu Sochua, Men Sothavarin, Ho Vann, Keo Phirum, Long Ry, Real Khemarin and Nuth Romduol were arrested after the violent clash on July 15, 2014.
The seven were later released on bail after Sam Rainsy and Prime Minister Hun Sen reached a political agreement on July 22.
