PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Human rights group Licadho has called on political parties to increase a number of women's participation in politics.
"Currently female parliamentarians and senators represent only 20 percent, and civil society insists that the number of women in the political and social affairs be increased to 30-40 percent," said Licadho's Executive Director Pung Chhiv Kek.
In addition to their participation in the National Assembly and Senate, women should be allowed to hold many other positions at provincial, city, and district level.
