CCHR Open Letter regarding addressing land disputes in the Kingdom of Cambodia

Dear all,

Please see attached the Khmer version and English translation of an open letter from the Cambodian Center for Human Rights ("CCHR") to Samdach Akak Moha Sena Padey Techo Hun Sen regarding his speech delivered on 18 August 2014 at the opening of the workshop on the national strategy for food security and nutrition 2014-2018.
CCHR welcomes Prime Minister Hun Sen's commitment to finding solutions to land disputes in the country. However, considering the widespread and complex nature of land disputes, any solution will require the involvement of the government at the highest level, and a national plan and policies supported by the Royal Government of Cambodia ("RGC"). The letter urges Prime Minister Hun Sen to put his words into actions by starting to implement as soon as possible some of the recommendations highlighted in the letter.

If you should require any further information or wish to discuss this topic, please contact CCHR at this e-mail address or Chak Sopheap, CCHR Executive Director via telephone at +855 (0) 1194 3213 or via email atchaksopheap@cchrcambodia.org  or Vann Sophath, Land Reform Project Coordinator via telephone at +855 (0) 1294 1206 or e-mail at vann.sophath@cchrcambodia.org

Kind regards,
CCHR
