PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Opposition leader on Tuesday welcomed Prime Minister Hun Sen's comment that agreed to include the National Election Committee (NEC) in the constitution, and let CNRP to have its own TV station, saying that it is a positive sign.
Sam Rainsy said the Cambodia National Rescue Party would join the National Assembly to amend the constitution if there is letter of agreement over the inclusion of NEC in Constitution.
"We accept what is positive because it is in accordance with the will of Cambodian people who want fair election," he said. "To ensure the independence of NEC, we have to include it in Constitution."
Prime Minister Hun Sen said during a visit today to disabled people in Kampot that he would approve the opposition's request for a TV station and defining the NEC in the Constitution if the CNRP joined the parliament.
He, meanwhile, said that reelection was impossible, claiming that his party would continue to lead the National Assembly and government until next general election in 2018 if the CNRP doesn't join the National Assembly.

Opposition leaders still don't know hun sen? Just having a tv station license will not be able to help the people of Cambodia. Cnrp is going to be broke and supporters will be jailed or killed one by one before the next election. By the next election, everyone will be too scare to oppose the cpp and cnrp will definitely lose the next election.
