Mr. Sam Rainsy: Mr. Hun Sen Should Give Value to National Rescue Movement

Give our kids a better deal
PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The leader of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) Mr. Sam Rainsy has sent a political message to Mr. Hun Sen, Prime Minister from the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), requesting the Prime Minister to value the national rescue movement which, he stated, is against those trying to kill Cambodian nation.

Mr. Sam Rainsy emphasized that opposing to the national rescue movement was a misperception.

“The CNRP, especially its President Mr. Sam Rainsy, doesn’t want to see Prime Minister Hun Sen consider the opposition party an enemy,” he told the local members of his party on Tuesday.

Mr. Sam Rainsy sent a few words to Prime Minister Hun Sen by explaining about the advantage of the CNRP which, he claimed, is the movement against foreign invaders and those trying to kill Khmer nation.

According to Mr. Sam Rainsy, the idea against him, Mr. Kem Sokha, and the CNRP from Prime Minister Hun Sen and the CPP is a mistake.

He explained “If the CPP and Prime Minister Hun Sen want to get rid of Sam Rainsy, Kem Sokha, the CNRP, as well as the movement against those trying to kill their own nation, it will be a misperception.”

Mr. Sam Rainsy took the Khmer history of 1800-1840 by saying the situation in Cambodia in that time was similar to the situation in Cambodia today. He said: “It was the Vietnamese who killed Khmer people and Khmer nation. We had the King but the King was their puppet. Our King was poorly treated by the Vietnamese.”

In all public events during the local council election campaign, Mr. Sam Rainsy has never forgotten describing about his concerns over the invasion from Viet Nam. He blamed the government for ignoring the issue of illegal immigration by allowing the Vietnamese people to come to Cambodia and linked this issue with the policy of the Vietnamese government in which, he believes, they have the ambition to control Cambodia.
