PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- Three Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) vessels will visit Cambodia on 17-20 February, said a statement of the Japanese Embassy in Phnom Penh on Thursday.
“The visit of the vessels including SHIMAKAZE, YAMAYUKI and SHIMAYUKI at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port is to strengthen friendship between Japan and Cambodia through various exchange programs as well as to give opportunity for 106 new cadet officers to learn about culture and military in Cambodia,” said the statement.
The statement added that Captain Koji YAGI, who leads the visit of the vessels, will pay a courtesy call on Commander of Cambodian Royal Navy on 18 February.
Koji YAGI will also visit the Ream Naval Base, the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Office and Port Authority of Sihnoukville on 17 February.
